Opportunities find you anywhere. What I thought would be an interview for a school assignment turned into a lasting connection.

I spoke to McKenna, the Kitchen Manager at Oh My Cupcakes, a local bakery in Sioux Falls. She gave me insight into life at Oh My Cupcakes and how they operate as a small business. One of the things she stressed the most was knowing what the clientele wants. Certain cupcake flavors are more popular than others. It is impossible to know what the consumers are going to want.

I met the owner of Oh My Cupcakes, Melissa, and she offered to let me take photos at an event they were hosting. I met many people and got some great shots that Melissa is commissioning from me to use for their social media.

Opportunities can come from unexpected places. Take every opportunity you can and always be open to any opportunity that presents itself.
